It's the end of an era now that both Lomachenko and Kovalev have decided to leave the sport on a high note. Even though GGG has yet to announce his retirement his best days are far gone and I doubt we'll see him back in the ring any time soon. At their best they were all exciting fighters with a seemingly invincible aura around them for a time. GGG being an absolute destroyer with great all round skills. Kovalev being an intimidating power house who was hard to outbox at range. And Lomachenko a highly talented technical boxing wizard who was able to do almost everything in the ring. Their careers ended up not living up to most people's expectations partly due to them being screwed over of what could have been career high wins (GGG against Canelo 1, Kovalev against Ward 1, Lomachenko against Haney). Despite their shortcomings they still managed to have a HOF worthy career overall.

Out of the 3 who would you say is the best fighter in terms of achievement and where would you rank them from best to worst?

Lomachenko. The other two just reigned in one weightclass and the best win between them is a narrow win over Danny Jacobs.

    Loma
    Ggg
    Kovalev

Kovalev just doesn't have the resume or accomplishments to be up there with the other 2.

Golovkin had one of the longest and most dominant reigns in middleweight history, but his competition was lacking, and the better competition he did fight he didn't look as impressive against.

Loma has the best resume out of the three, was a three weight world champ and won a world title within 3 fights. His record isn't spotless either but out of the three I think he ranks highest.

Loma. Never seen anything quite like him .. his technical brilliance and cross-weight dominance give him the edge for me ..

Chenko redefined technical excellence in boxing & his amateur-to-pro transition set a new standard.

Winning three-division titles in just his first 12 fights is a feat unmatched by Golovkin or Kovalev.

He turned pro a little too late to create an ATG resume, plus made some poor career choices along the way but all in all he's a cert for HOF one day.

End of an era indeed.. just Usyk & Bivol representing now. I'll miss these fellas they've been an absolute joy to watch, gave us many memorable nights.

Don't forget Artur Beterbiev, Bakhram Murtazaliev, and Serhii Bohachuk. Those 3 are monsters like GGG and Kovalev while Usyk and Bivol are technical wizards like Loma. We have all those guys to still look forward to while they're still active. Although I think Beterbiev may be on his way out soon.

    So what.

Light Heavyweight to Cruiserweight is a massive leap of 25 pounds so that immediately excludes Kovalev.

Willie Pep, Marvin Hagler, Kostya Tszyu, Carl Froch - all only 'just ruled in one weight class.'

Nice job skipping the part about a narrow win over Danny Jacobs being the best win between the two of them. If Kovalev had beaten Stevenson and Ward, he'd be the best. If GGG had beaten Canelo and Pirog, he'd be the best. Instead, they need fans to pretend that loses were wins.

BTW Tszyu has a mediocre resume for anyone thought of as an ATG. More like a very good.

There's a lot of good prospects from that part of the world, especially in Russia. The talent is always there, it's just whether they get the opportunities and activity. For example, Bob Arum went through a short phase of signing plenty of them and now he doesn't sign none.

The Jacobs win isn't better than the Ward *, Alvarez *, Hopkins, Pascal wins

Anyway, all three are far greater than your boy Guillermo Rigondeaux that's for sure:thumbsup:

Spoken like an upset fanboy. Jacobs is the best win between Kovalev and GGG. Zero doubt about it.

Achievements Loma. But peak has to be Kov and I dislike Kov as a person because I think he’s a shitty human being. Peak Kov was almost a perfect pro, while Loma and GGG were great fighter they had several limitations. GGG got hit way too easily and flush. Loma doesn’t have the heart or grit of a true pro.

GGG greatest. Lomachenko best. Kovalev exists I guess? Nowhere near the level of the other two, peak, resume, or whatever else wise. Actually Kovalev wins the alcoholic ******* award

Without politics and robberies they would be regarded as 3 of the greatest of all time.
